The Heart of Yoga Association has been formed to help communicate the principles of yoga practice to a wider audience. Yoga is not an alternative to an existing lifestyle, but can add value and clarity to a person's life as it is. No one is restricted from yoga. Anyone who wants to can enjoy a yoga that is right for them. The premise of this yoga is that there is an appropriate yoga of body and breath for every person according to age, health, body type, and lifestyle. If the principles of yoga are applied taking into account the present situation of the person, anyone can enjoy the many benefits of yoga immediately.
The Middle East Project is a program to promote world peace..
Heart of Yoga is a non-profit 501(c)3. Contributions and inquiries to mark@heartofyoga.com.
*Sri Tirumalai Krishnamacharya, who lived to be over 100 years old, was one of the greatest yogis of the modern era. Elements of Krishnamacharya's teaching have become well known around the world through the work of B.K.S. Iyengar, Pattabhi Jois, and Indra Devi, who studied with Krishnamacharya in their early years. Krishnamacharya's son T.K.V. Desikachar lived and studied with his father all of his life and now teaches the full spectrum of Krishnamacharya's yoga. Desikachar has based his method on Krishnamacharya's fundamental principle: the practices must be continually adapted to the individual's changing needs in order to achieve the maximum therapeutic value. This is viniyoga-- yoga adapted to the needs of the individual.
