Domagoj

Domagoj practises and teaches yoga of heart as he was taught by his teacher and heart friend Mark Whitwell. His teaching method focuses on developing a personal practice as the very heart of yoga that helps the practising individual to get anchored in her/his own heart. As an invisible point of union it is the inexhaustable source of our human emotivity and our infinite capacity to feel. True intimacy with this centre of our humanity reveals the person's true nature as the powerful peace and peaceful power of a life lived straight from the heart, and uncompromisingly for the heart. This soft-heartedness or hearty-softness then becomes the basis of a creative relational life as the real and ultimate purpose of practising yoga in the first place.

By joyfully practising one's own personalised yoga, that is the one carefully adapted to the real needs, interests, desires, aspirations, abilities and changing circumstances of the individual, she/he slowly or abruptly embraces the actuality of being alive in the world and discovers her/his full human potential through a personally empowering, effective and safe yoga as a direct participation in Life as Life. This feeling of utter connectedness to the Source or the Whole releases the practitioner from the trauma and illusion of separatness, and so allows for a relaxed and energetic interaction with reality, whatever it may be. Namely, by practising and living our own authentic and unobsessive yoga on a daily basis, we summon the courage to stand firmly alone, face reality as it is, deal with the suffering creatively and plunge into love as our birthright and our natural state of fully enjoying the aliveness that we are.

Domagoj has been studying yoga with Mark Whitwell since the year 2000. Before that he was enthusiastically experimenting with yoga through reading books and trying to practise alone, mostly ineffectively, for nine years. After being healed by Mark's compassionate touch, he finally found the right yoga for himself that transformed his life and prompted him into sharing it with others in an equal friendship and sincere exchange of information and experience. He is deeply grateful to Mark for giving him the superb gift of yoga, as well as to his other dear friends, most notably to Carl Horowitz and Jeremiah Brimlow, who also taught him the heart of yoga with yoga of heart. Domagoj holds a BA degree in Philosophy and earns his living as a translator and secondary school English teacher. He translated Mark Whitwell's book "Yoga of Heart: The Healing Power of Intimate Connection" (Yoga srca: Iscjeljujuca snaga prisnosti, 2004) into his native Croatian language and wrote his own introductory book on yoga entitled "Iskustvo yoge: Uvod u filozofiju i praksu viniyoge" (The Experience of Yoga: An Introduction to the Philosophy and Practice of Viniyoga, 2001).  He teaches yoga privately and non-professionally in his home town and is available for public teaching in Central Europe.

Yoga is your direct participation
absorption in the given wonder
the extreme intelligence of life
that is of course in every person
every creature
you can do this
it's not a search
it's not to use the mind
it's not to use the body to try to get somewhere
as if you are not "Somewhere"
as if you are not the full blown wonder of life
dependent on a vast process
for your own existence
so there is a right yoga for you
you learn to do that yoga
and then you too can enjoy this direct absorption
participation in the nurturing force that is life already given to you
you are completely loved
completely loved
you are completely cared for
everybody is completely loved
completely cared for
even if the social conditions are suggesting otherwise
even if your mind doesn't recognize it
by doing your yoga practice on a daily basis
actually and naturally
not obsessively
you too can enjoy this direct absorption
in the wonder that is this life
in all conditions of life including the unseen source
which is responsible for all this appearance here
please enjoy your yoga
YOU ARE HERE NOW

This is a simple argument.
It is easier than easy.
So simple, we seldom speak of it and do not grasp it.
But once seen, it is obvious
and we feel the stark reality of our life,
unmediated by the mind of doubt.

The idea of human imperfection
that is deeply ingrained in the social mind,
in old scientific and religious thinking
blinds us to the perfection that is already in us,
as us, as Life itself, as Nature "her"self.

We are not separate;
we cannot be separate from Nature,
which sustains us in a vast interdependence with everything.

The universe comes perfectly
and is awesome in its integration and infinite existence.
It is our natural state.

Our mission and passion
is to provide the spiritual
and healing powers of yoga
to all who recognize the ancient wisdom
and the wisdom of your own body and mind.
